Hey, sorry to bother you, but my backpack’s getting a bit long in the tooth and it just gave out. Now all my papers, books, everything are spread out all over the place. If you’ve got a minute to spare, could you lend me a helping hand and pick some of these up?
I certainly could finish picking up my books for Greek Myth within a matter of minutes, but I think having two people work at it could really get the job done in a cinch, don’t you think? I’m sure you have somewhere to be, but would it really hurt you to be a minute or two late? Just picture yourself walking into class with the satisfaction that you’ve been a good samaritan today. Think about it.
If you’re not up to the task, that’s fine too. I might forget a book or two, I might be late to class, but that’s alright. Life goes on, time passes, and as we age this moment will only be a faint pockmark in our lives. With that in mind though, time is passing right now and I could really use another set of hands picking up these books.
